Info: A new find - we are researching the possible commission number which is currently missing from the car.

The car itself has 1959 parts (bootlid/doors) with later engine valances - so visually it dates from around Oct 1959 to January 1960. The plate is dateable - GEC1 started in September 1959 with GEC612 being issued Jan 1, 1960 - and the 'set' finishing (GEC999) March 1960. So based on a guestimate of 166 cars 'registered' each month during the run GEC492 would have been registered cNovember 1959.
