- The official launch to the motoring press took place at the Albert Hall.
Triumph invited 1,500 guests; wined, dined and entertained them.
(Bob Monkhouse hosted the event). The cars were displayed in the
middle of the hall at first, shrouded by huge Triumph Herald branded
One of the highlights of the launch was building a Triumph Herald
from scratch (shown right). The audience were amazed when the
car fired up, demonstrated the horn, lights and turning circle.
The public launch of the Triumph Herald was at the 1959 Earls
Court motor show.
