Earls Court Launch Cars
Two Coupes have come out as the official Earls Court launch cars.
Y459 (engine no Y339) an Alpine Mauve & White Coupe and Y570 (engine no Y571) a Powder Blue & White car, built 11/3/59 and 23/3/59 respectively.

The Saloons that featured at Earls Court were:
G16 Litchfield Green & White - Grey Interior
G18 Powder Blue & White - Grey Interior
G19 White (Solid) - Alpine Mauve Interior
G21 Red (Solid) - Grey Interior
G26 Coffee & White - Coffee Interior.
The Saloons were built around March 20th.

I have the unveiling video and should be able to see some stills shortly, the film is in black and white,
but there is commentary saying the car colours upon unveiling - so we can place images with these cars too!

First US Coupe
As we are un-earthing most of the 'firsts', the first exported coupe to America was Y48L, a coffee and white car in early february 1959.
It was a while before any other cars followed so this car was perhaps used as promotion - certainly not a sale car.

"The official introduction of the Herald in the United States was spring 1960, but there were Heralds in Canada well before that US intro"
(Andy Mace)

This particular car Y48L had the engine number Y10, a coffee and white car with leather interior. I will look further into the records to see if I can find where exactly this car was despatched to.
It would be interesting to see if any early colour US herald literature had a coffee coupe.
